TDI Trimix Diver Course

Push the limits. See the depths with complete clarity.

TDI Trimix Diver

The TDI Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilise breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilising nitrox and oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 Metres.

The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures of utilising custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.

Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18 percent oxygen (O₂) and a minimum END of 30 metres/100 feet.

The training encompasses essential aspects such as equipment requirements, setup, and decompression planning and techniques.

This comprehensive training ensures that divers are well-
prepared to manage the complexities of Trimix diving with heightened safety and efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is helium used in trimix?

Helium reduces the effects of nitrogen narcosis and increases mental clarity at depth, making deep exploration safer and more controlled.

Trimiks are a tool reserved for trained technical divers but when used correctly, they are very effective in improving safety levels during deep dives.

Up to a depth of 60 meters / 200 feet, with a gas mixture of 18 percent oxygen or higher.

It usually includes several deep training dives that include staged decompression, skill-circuits and gas-switching training.

Sidemount or twinset configuration, multi-stage cylinders, redundant regulators, reels/SMB and technical trimix-capable computers. A full description and explanation of the equipment will be provided during your orientation.
