Who This Course Is For
- Nitrox-certified divers progressing toward technical diving.
- Divers who need oxygen-rich gases for later decompression training.
- Divers seeking stronger gas analysis, equipment and oxygen-management skills.
Prerequisites and Readiness
- Minimum age 18, or 15 with parental consent.
- TDI Nitrox Diver or equivalent.
- Proof of at least 25 logged open-water dives.
- Stable buoyancy, trim and situational awareness appropriate to the planned dives.
How Training Works
The course includes four dives with at least 100 minutes of accumulated bottom time. Training remains within no-decompression limits and does not exceed 40 metres or the diver’s existing certification limit, whichever is shallower.
Course duration is performance-based. Meeting minimum attendance or dive numbers does not guarantee certification; all required knowledge and skills must be demonstrated consistently.

Continue Your Development
Technical capability is developed through deliberate practice and experience between formal courses. Your next step should reflect your recent diving, equipment configuration and objectives.
The Blue Water Ascent approach
Competence Before Certification
We coach understanding, judgement and repeatable performance—not minimum-standard completion. Training is adapted to the diver while every certification requirement and course limit is preserved.
