TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver Course
Your step into the world of advanced diving with the knowledge, professional level control and technical precision you need to explore the depths of the ocean.
Your step into the world of advanced diving with the knowledge, professional level control and technical precision you need to explore the depths of the ocean.
Unleash your diving potential with the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver course at Blue Water Ascent – the key to mastering the essentials of advanced underwater exploration with more knowledge, better control and technical precision. When you are ready to move beyond the recreational levels of diving, this course will be your starting point.
This program is for the experienced nitrox diver and is designed to push the limits of your abilities using EAN 21, using 100% oxygen and no-decompression up to 40 meters/130 feet when you are at your maximum depth. Advanced Nitrox is a set of tools that enables you to perform better, stay safer and more efficiently underwater, whether you are a scientific diver, underwater photographer, wreck explorer or technical trainee.
Advanced Nitrox, commonly known as the TDI Decompression Procedure course, is considered the foundation of technical diving and is mandatory for SCR and CCR divers.
Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for:
- Certified Nitrox divers who are ready to work with mixtures containing more than 40 percent oxygen.
- Divers interested in improving their buoyancy, trim and equipment management.
- Professionals, researchers and those with long bottom times.
- Athletes in training for the Technical Diver route.
- Divers seeking ANDP, rebreather or decompression procedure training.
- When you are dedicated to diving smarter, further and professionally prepared, Advanced Nitrox is the step you should take.
This course is the best in case you are serious about diving, or you just wish to get the pleasure of more time underwater.
Course Prerequisites
Before starting, all participants are required to meet the following:
- At least 18 years of age (or 15 years with parental permission)
- Certified Nitrox Diver TDI or equivalent.
- Proof of 25 registered open-water dives.
- Must have a good level of comfort in the water and be a responsible diver.
- What you will learn - In-depth experience, high-level techniques.
- Advanced Nitrox builds on the concepts of Standard Nitrox and takes you into the world of precise oxygen regulation.
Topics Covered in Detail
- Diving with more than 40% oxygen mixtures.
- Risk control, CNS/OTU exposures, and oxygen toxicity.
- Gas planning, modulation, and oxygen window concepts.
- Premium dive tables and computer functions for diving.
- Technical dive profile limitations (nitrogen and oxygen).
- Cylinder labeling, equipment preparation, and oxygen-clean procedures.
- Gas auxiliary trifles and gas analysis.
- Selection of the best mixtures to use in advanced dive plans.
- It is technical level knowledge presented in an understandable and practical way.
In-Water Competency, Control and Confidence.
You will be trained on the basic skills needed to perform advanced technical diving:
- Boost: You are in perfect balance, but you are not using your arms or your fins.
- Team diving awareness: Team communication, team spacing, and coordination.
- Regulator Control: Free-flow traffic, shutdown drills, and backup switching.
- Trim and position of controlled safety stops.
- Air distribution: Receiver and donor maintaining depth and posture.
- Technical trim: Horizontal position, and movement on a streamline.
- Stress measurement: Individual position and buddy position.
These capabilities provide the discipline, precision, and attitude required for professional grade divers.
What's in It for You? - Starting your technical journey
On successful completion, you will get:
Approval to utilize EAN 21 to 100% oxygen, and given the conditions of the diving, as long as the training conditions are met.
The capability of safely doing longer, optimized dives within your existing depth ranges.
An excellent base of advanced technical education.
Eligibility to enroll in:
- TDI Decompression Procedures.
- TDI Semi-Closed Rebreather (SCR).
- TDI Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) courses.
You will also leave behind with good-honed competences that will increase your safety, comfort, and performance significantly in the water.
Certification Requirements
To earn your TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver certification, you will need to:
- Attend each educational module.
- Pass the paper exams.
- Demonstrate all required in-water abilities that are controlled, safe and confident.
- Demonstrate rationality in thinking about and conducting all dives.
At Blue Water Ascent, our instructors ensure that you not only pass the course but that you master it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Advanced Nitrox permit me to make decompression dives?
No. It is a no-decompression course. In the case of staged decompression, you will need TDI decompression procedures or an integrated ANDP program.
Why would I have oxygen rich mixes up to 100 percent?
Technical profiles optimize decompression and gas efficiency with the use of high-oxygen mixtures. It is necessary in high-level diving.
Is that the training I require prior to rebreather training?
Yes. Both SCR and CCR programs require advanced nitrox.
Are the skills difficult?
It is difficult, yet not impossible. Expect the development of professional competence in terms of buoyancy, trim, gas planning and equipment management.
Is it possible to combine Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures?
Absolutely. There are many divers who choose to take the combined ANDP course which is a complete foundation for technical diving to depths of 45 meters/150 feet.
